Staff and Associate Specialist Doctors (SAS)
We support Staff and Associate Specialist Grade doctors within the region in their pursuit of Continuing Professional Development. During 2013/2014 Health Education England working across Yorkshire and the Humber allocated £586,449 of funding provided by the Department of Health to approximately 1150 SAS Doctors throughout the region.

British Medical Association (BMA) SAS Committee

GMC - Certificate confirming Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) applications through Article 14
The General Medical Council have developed a system whereby SAS doctors can apply under Article 14 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order for a CESR. This would apply to staff that have not completed a specified training programme.
GPs who have not followed a GMC approved training programme can apply under Article 11 of the Order for a Certificate confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR)

Generic Skills Training Provision
We have commissioned a suite of modular courses to enable trainers (consultants and SAS doctors) and trainees to develop their generic skills. These courses are available as blended learning, consisting of on-line and face to face delivery.
