Help and Support
At a local level, help should be forthcoming from the trainees Educational/Clinical Supervisor, and from the Locality TPD for CMT trainees. Any health concerns can be raised with the Occupational Health Department of the employing trust. Educational concerns can also be raised with the local Directors of Postgraduate Medical Education, via the Postgraduate Centres.
At a School level help can be requested from the Training Programme Directors (TPDs) or Heads of School, or the Deputy Deans, and will be confidential if requested. The trainee representatives (TRs) can raise your concerns about your programme or the office in which you work at the Trainee Forum. Specific advice is available from Health Education England working across Yorkshire and the Humber for many areas listed in the column on the left-hand side of this page, such as 'Less than Full-Time Training', Inter-Deanery Transfers, etc. These issues are fully described on the main Health Education England working across Yorkshire and the Humber website.
Nationally, the BMA are able to help their members, especially with contractual issues. The medical defence societies can help with any queries regarding potential litigation, and the Royal College of Physicians will advise on a wide range of professional issues - they also have College Tutors appointed in each trust, who can be approached.

Medicine is inherently stressful and is a job that often leads to people ruminating about decisions made and previous events. One way of helping to address this is via 'Mindfulness'
