me_1_186x204.jpgMy name is Nadia Jawad and I am a fifth Year Trainee at the Hull Radiology Training Scheme. We are one of the smaller but definitely the friendliest training scheme in the country. There are four to five registrars each year and a total of 20-25 of us.

During our training, we rotate between the hospitals in Hull and East Yorkshire (Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital), York and Scarborough with the majority of our training centralised within one of the Hull Hospitals. The department offers excellent training in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional radiology with close supervision and plenty of hands-on experience. There are regular teaching from the consultants and ample opportunities to participate in research and audit. We have monthly audit/research meetings and many of us go on to present in national or international conferences. Our study leave is flexible and the budget generous. We also actively involved in teaching medical students from the Hull York medical school, including running a Special Study Modules for budding Radiologists!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my training in Hull and recommend it to anyone interested in a career in Radiology. Please feel free to contact me at for any further information.
