The area of the Scarborough VTS includes some of the most exhilarating coastal and moor-land scenery in the country. Based in Scarborough, the sea is never far away, with dramatic cliff top walks and beautiful beaches.
The small market towns of Malton and Pickering, and historic, coastal towns and villages such as Whitby, Filey and Robin Hoods Bay are on your doorstep. Several of the training practices are to be found within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park with its picture book villages and valleys, and wild heather clad moorland.
The Scarborough General Practice Specialty Training Programme is a small, friendly Programme situated in a beautiful area in which to live and work. The Training Practices are of the highest standard, encompassing Scarborough town centre, smaller communities such as Whitby and Filey, and remote rural environments. There is an emphasis on personal mentoring, supervision and support. MRCGP pass rates exceed the national average. Housing is relatively inexpensive and local amenities are good. Job prospects after training are excellent.
