Cardiothoracic Surgery.

The Yorkshire and the Humber School of Surgery provides a training programme in Cardiothoracic Surgery.  Entry is either at ST1 or ST3 Level and is governed centrally at National Selection by the Surgical Advisory Committee based at The Royal College of Surgeons of England and administered by Health Education Wessex. The programme allocation is made by the SAC with reference to ranking at interviews and candidates choice.

The training programme extends over 6 years with the aim of achieving a Certificate of Completion of Training. This is based at the following hospital sites:-
Castle Hill Hospital, Hull - Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery including Oesophageal Surgery

Leeds General Infirmary – Adult Cardiac surgery and Paediatric Cardiac Surgery
St James University Hospital, Leeds - Thoracic surgery

Northern General Hospital, Sheffield – Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery
